Developing Principal Pipelines

In 2019, RAND released its study of the principal pipelines calling them a “feasible, affordable, and effective way for districts to improve schools (Gates, et al., 2019).” Learning Forward partners with districts leaders to develop strategies for strengthening elements of the pipeline including:

  • Establishing and/or adopting leader standards
  • Developing strategies for identifying talent
  • Strengthening pre-service preparation and support for aspiring principals
  • Clarifying hiring and on-the-job support for new principals
